Gaspard Poussin
French, 1615 - 1675
Landscape painter, b. Rome to French father and Italian mother. Brother-in-law of Nicolas Poussin (q.v.), who had married his sister, and by whom he was trained 1631-5. Remained on close terms with Poussin, and hence often called by his name.
