Jan van de Velde II

Draughtsman, painter, printmaker and publisher of prints; son of Jan van Velde I (q.v.); pupil of the engraver Jacob Matham in Haarlem, where he became a member of the guild of St Luke in 1614; from 1636 until his death in Enhuizen; father of the still-life painter Jan van de Velde III. Worked in both engraving and etching.
