Joannes Cattini

Venetian engraver, pupil of Faldoni. Worked with Piazzetta: set of 15 (frontispiece with portrait and Piazzetta and 14 heads), 'Icones ad vivum expressae', each with a separate dedication, first edition by Pasquali in 1743, who reprinted them in 1754 with numbers added; and again in 1763. Re-issued with new publication line in 1767 by Teodoro Viero. No plates by him known after c.1745, despite the date of his death (which may be wrong).
