George Fuller

The artist's great great grandson, Jeffrey Goodhue states: "One thing which should be noted is that my great-great-grandfather was "George Fuller". He had no middle name or initial. There was another artist by the name of "George F. Fuller" who painted at least until the 1890's. His works are generally signed using the middle initial. I have never been able to find out much about him, but I often see this confusion with my family's George Fuller. Auction houses, Ask-Art, and museums have all made the mistake, but I try to clear it up whenever I can. "George F. Fuller's" main claim to fame is A Steamboat Race on the Mississippi which was reproduced many times and is often associated with "George Fuller, ANA, (1822-1884)".
