Italian, 1758 - 1833
The famous neo-classic line-engraver. b. Naples, 1778 pupil of Volpato in Rome, and married his daughter. Moved to Florence in 1793 where appointed professor at engraving academy, and remained. Tomb in Santa Croce (see Apollo 1974, p.245).
