Translation
To both these spouses, namely Michael Lutz and his wedded housewife Margaretha, née Labach, was a daughter born into the world, as Catharina, in the year of our Lord Jesus 1804, the 7th day of November, at six o’clock in the evening, under the sign of [blank].

God give mercy, strength and power that this Catharina in the fear to the praise and acclamation of the Lord may grow up and increase in great desire for sensible pure milk, to seek the original salvation of the souls, after confessed acknowledgment of faith and perception of sin, through true repentance and penitence, before the Christian Parish, to the spiritual rebirth of the Holy Baptism advanced, and by Mister Henr. Hoffmayer, preacher and servant of the Word, according to the command of Christ, Matthew 28, verse 19, baptized and taken in the merciful covenant with God. This Catharina is, as a member in the community of the saints, through the bath of the rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit, as St. Paul teaches Chapter 3, verses 5, 6, 7. has been taken up and accepted, this [blank] day [blank] and through the true faith in our Redeemer Jesus Christ, whose so dear earned gains the heavenly joy and the inheritance of eternal salvation established. Therefore forget not again (how) Apostle Paul, Colossians 1, verses 12, 14 the duty describes. Say thanks to the Father who made us able for the inheritance of the saints in the light, etc.

Sponsors were: The grandmother Catharina Labach(in). This Catharina was born and baptized in the state of Pennsylvania, Northampton County, in Lower Saucon Township.

[in lower left heart]
I am baptized, I stand united through my baptism with my God, So I always speak with joyful mouth: in burden, in sadness, fear and need. I am baptized, for which I am glad. The joy remains with me eternally.

[in lower right heart]
I am baptized, if I now die, how can the cool grave harm me? I know my fatherland and inheritance that I have in heaven with God. After my death, is for me prepared, heaven’s joy and the garment of celebration.
