Axel Haig created more than 400 etchings during his long career, the majority depicting castles, towers, and cathedrals in both England and Europe. This large etching depicts the outer figures beside the right jamb of the central bay of the north porch of Chartres Cathedral in France, one of the most impressive Gothic cathedrals in Europe.
