This society portrait of the artist’s wife entered The Museum’s collection shortly after it was exhibited at the annual exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy. Russian-born Raditz studied at the Pennsylvania Academy with William Merritt Chase and Edmund C. Tarbell. He taught at the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Salmagundi Club in New York. The artist painted some of the most influential people of his era including members of the Rockefeller and Dupont families, Madam Chiang-Kai-Shek and countless philanthropists, judges and dignitaries.
