Trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Osborne became an influential faculty member there from 1963 until 2011. As only the third full-time female faculty member, after Cecilia Beaux and Violet Oakley, she taught courses for more than fifty years. Her body of work includes figurative and naturalistic paintings and still lifes as well as abstracted interiors, landscapes, and seascapes.
