Translation: "A Christian Baptism wish.  You are, O dear child, baptized into the death of Christ, who with his blood saved you from hell.  This I have made as remembrance and constant reminder, according to your baptism, to the glory of God and the joy of your parents, to your rightful profit and your salvation.  Samuel Staud was born the 28th of February, 1785 and was baptized by Pastor Henrich Dehkert.  Baptismal sponsors Samuel Marburger and his lawfully wedded wife, Maria, in Brunswick Township in Berks County in America."
