This maquette (study) was for a ten-story mural on the south side of the Baywood Correctional Facility at 19th Street and 11th Avenue in New York City. The mural was commissioned by CityWalls (later the Public Art Fund) through the generosity of Doris Freedman, the namesake of the Freedman Gallery at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was a pioneering advocate for the arts.
