Luigi Settanni was born in Italy and immigrated to America with his family in 1920. He studied art at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art (now the University of the Arts) and at the Barnes Foundation, where several of his paintings are housed in their renowned Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collection. His work took him all over the world, and he had the opportunity to paint in France, Morocco, Corsica, Mexico, and Florida.
