Davis was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and was educated at The Pennsylvania Museum & School of Industrial Arts. She furthered her studies in painting with Anthony Thieme (1888 - 1954) of Boston and Rockport. This rocky coast scene likely represents Massachusetts' North Shore.
