Concerned with a three dimensional rendering of the exuberance of youth, Morlon's bronze is part of the transition from traditional modes to concepts of modernism in the early twentieth century.  Conceived in relation to the scale of the human body and working with a traditional material, the sculptor works within the context of the existing classical style, but he has extended it into the realm of formalist articulated space.  This is achieved by imaginatively arranging a stylized nude in a circumscribing motion which is part of her joyous dance.

The long geometrical "C" curve running from her extended left toe through thigh, torso, declination of the neck and outstretched arms, and the "S" curve starting with her right toe, is a vigorous manifestation of Art Deco.  Look also at the continuum formed by the kid down through its legs and alternately its tail.  What makes the sculpture live is the inspired series of voids defined by the grouping of the bodies which becomes a drawing in space.  Morlon has imbued his youth with a highly active space instead of merely displacing air with bronze.
