8th Station: Oiso

This station was an isolated village on the coast. It shows travelers walking along a narrow tree-lined road in a downpour as they enter a village overlooking the sea with huts positioned along the road.

From ancient times, many poets referred to this coastline in their poems. Now a motorway has been built along the seashore and passing motorists pay less attention to this historic place.
