Translation
To these two spouses, namely Mr. Jacob Hahn and his wedded housewife Maria Margaretha, née Bender(in), was a son born into the world, as Peter Hahn. [He] was born into the world in the year of our Lord Jesus 1785, the 24th day of April, at 3 o’clock in the evening, under the sign of [blank].

God give mercy, strength and power that this Peter in the fear to the praise and acclamation of the Lord may grow up and increase in great desire for sensible pure milk, to seek the original salvation of the souls, after confessed acknowledgment of faith and perception of sin, through true repentance and penitence, before the Christian Parish, to the spiritual rebirth of the Holy Baptism advanced, and by Mister Ludwig Berlitzius, preacher and servant of the Word, according to the command of Christ, Matthew 28, verse 19, baptized and taken into the merciful covenant with God. This Peter is, as a member in the community of the saints, through the bath of the rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit, as St. Paul teaches, Titus 3, verses 5, 6, 7 to the Reformed Religion has been taken in and accepted, the 5th day of June 1785, and through the true faith in our Redeemer Jesus Christ, whose so dear earned gains the heavenly joy and the inheritance of eternal salvation established. Therefore forget not how Apostle Paul Colossians 1, verses 12, 14 the duty describes. Say thanks to the Father who made us fit for the inheritance of the saints in the light, etc.

The sponsors were Peter Bender and Maria Margaretha Zerfass(in), both single.

This Peter was born and baptized in America, in the state of Pennsylvania, in Northampton County, in Plainfield Township.

[center script]
Confirmed by Mister Thomas [Bumm] in the year 1802, the 24th day of April.

When we are barely born, from the first step in life to the cool grave of the earth, is only a short-measured pace. Oh! With every moment, our strength declines. And with every year, we are all too ripe for the bier; And who knows at which hour the final voice will awaken us; for with His mouth, God has not yet revealed this to any human. He who now tends to his house will leave the world with joy. Since surety, on the other hand, can provoke eternal death.

[lower script]
And entered into matrimony the 15th of June 1806.

[in lower left heart]
I am baptized, I stand united through my baptism with my God, So I always speak with joyful mouth: in burden, in sadness, fear and need. I am baptized, for which I am glad. The joy remains with me eternally.

[in lower right heart]
I am baptized, if I now die, how can the cool grave harm me? I know my fatherland and inheritance that I have in heaven with God. After my death, is for me prepared, of heaven’s joy, the garment of celebration.
