An expert at experimenting with the medium of etching and drypoint (often combining several techniques in the same print), Buhot sought to achieve the maximum number of sheets per plate. The artist is best known for his atmospheric images--which he called "paintings on copper"--of France and England including landscapes, seascapes, and urban street scenes, such as this example, which Buhot chose to depict in the rain and fog.
